Terms & Conditions
Norda Dance Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ensure the smooth running of classes and provide clarity to both parents/guardians and instructors. By enrolling your child in our classes, you agree to adhere to the following terms:
1. Parent Participation and Class Policies
14 months - 3 years: Parents are encouraged to stay with their child during class. If you feel confident, you may leave your child in the class, but you must remain within the building for the duration of the session.
3-4 years: Children are encouraged to develop their independence. Parents are welcome to stay and observe or may wait in the building during class. If your child needs assistance or feels unsettled, you will be contacted. Please note that during this class, I may be teaching alone with the children. In such cases, I am fully trained in safeguarding and child protection procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in my care.
2. Toilet Reminder
Parents are kindly asked to ensure that their child has used the toilet before the class begins to avoid disruptions during the session.
3. Outdoor Footwear
All parents and children must remove outdoor footwear before entering the dance studio. This helps maintain the cleanliness of the studio and ensures a safe environment for all.
4. Late Arrivals
Children who arrive 15 minutes or more after the class has started will not be allowed to join that session, as it disrupts the class. Please ensure you arrive on time to allow your child to get the most from their lesson. No refunds will be given for missed classes or late arrivals.
5. Safeguarding Policy
At Norda Dance, the safety and well-being of the children in our care is of utmost importance. We adhere to the following safeguarding practices:
- All instructors are DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service) and insured.
- In the 3-4 year old classes, I may be alone with the children. I am fully trained in safeguarding and child protection procedures, and no child will ever be left alone in the studio or unsupervised at any time.
- A designated safeguarding lead is responsible for any safeguarding concerns.
- Instructors will not be alone with any child without the presence of other staff or parents when possible.
If you have any concerns about safeguarding or the welfare of any child in the class, please contact us immediately.
6.Sickness & Illness Policy
Attendance During Illness:
- If your child is unwell, we kindly ask that you keep them at home to prevent the spread of illness to other children and staff. This includes any infectious illnesses such as colds, flu, or stomach bugs.
- If your child has been unwell (e.g., with a fever, vomiting, or diarrhoea), they must be symptom-free before returning to class.
Illness During Class:
- If a child becomes unwell during class (e.g., starts feeling sick), we will contact the parent immediately and ask for the child to be collected. If the situation is serious, we will call emergency services.
7. Fire Policy
In the event of a fire alarm, parents and children must evacuate the building immediately following the fire exit signs. Parents must ensure that they are familiar with the fire evacuation routes upon arrival at the venue. Instructors will guide children to the assembly point.
7. Intruder Policy
In the unlikely event of an intruder or threat to safety:
- Instructors are trained to handle emergency situations and will guide children and parents to safety.
- The community space is open and cannot be locked, but staff will monitor the entrances to ensure only authorised individuals enter the class space.
- If you notice anything suspicious or unfamiliar individuals approaching the building, please notify an instructor or staff member immediately.
- Parents must remain on-site (if leaving the child in class) and should remain aware of the building’s surroundings during class times.
8. Refunds & Cancellations
Missed Classes:
- We do not offer refunds or credits for missed classes. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure regular attendance.
Teacher Cancellation:
- In the rare event that a teacher has to cancel a class and is unable to reschedule, a full refund will be issued for that session.
9. Photo & Video Policy
Photography and Filming:
- Parents are strictly permitted to take photos and videos of their own child only during classes.
- Permission must be obtained from other parents before taking photos or videos of their children. If you wish to share any images or videos from class on social media, please ensure that all children in the image are part of your family or have consent.
Publicity:
- From time to time, we may take promotional photos or videos for marketing purposes. Parents will be asked for written consent before their child’s image is used for these purposes. If you do not wish for your child’s image to be used, please inform us at the time of registration.
10. Health & Safety
- All parents must inform the instructor of any medical conditions, allergies, or additional requirements that their child may have before attending classes.
- Children must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for class (e.g., uniform or comfortable clothing and ballet shoes).
- Instructors are trained in basic first aid. If an injury occurs, we will assess and treat it appropriately. In case of serious injury, parents will be contacted, and emergency services will be called if necessary.
11. Child Supervision
Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision of their child before and after the class, and during drop-off and pick-up times. Children should not be left unattended at any time outside of class hours.
12. Behavioural Expectations
- Children are expected to behave in a manner that respects others and follows instructions.
- Any child who is consistently disruptive may be asked to leave the class temporarily, and parents will be notified.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry to class if behaviour issues are persistent or safety is at risk.
13. Community Space Etiquette
Please be mindful that Norda Dance operates within a shared community space where other classes may take place at the same time. Parents waiting for their child’s class to finish are welcome to use the honesty kitchen provided for refreshments. Please respect the space and be considerate of other users.
14. Changes to Terms & Conditions
Norda Dance reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to parents in advance.
